Call Of Duty: Warzone On PS4 Doesn't Need PS Plus - MW

Infinity Ward has confirmed an important detail on Call of Duty: Warzone. Production manager Paul Haile said on Twitter that players would not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play the Battle Royale game on PS4.

It's not a big surprise, as many other free Battle Royale games, including Fortnite and Apex Legends, also don't require a paid subscription for PlayStation Plus. This is another case on Xbox One, as Fortnite and Apex Legends require Xbox Live Gold. Whether or not this is also the case for the unknown war zone at this stage, but everything will soon become clear. Either way, Warzone supports cross-play across all platforms, as well as cross-progression with Modern Warfare. If you own this game, Warzone exists right now.

Warzone is Call of Duty's second royal battle product, after Blackout for Black Ops 4. However, this time it's another situation where Activision offers Warzone as an independent game, completely free in when Blackout is not available only for Black Ops 4 buyers.

Warzone has two main modes: Battle Royale and Plunder. Battle royale mode has 50 teams of three (no single player option) fighting until there is only one team left. In addition to more players than its rivals, Warzone also offers a unique layout, where players can 1 v 1 in a gulag for a chance to return to the battlefield.

Looting mode, on the other hand, is essentially a race to collect the most money by looting, stealing it from other players and reaching mid-game goals.

Warzone launches on Tuesday, March 10 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Modern Warfare owners got off to an early start, with the game coming out at 8am. It becomes available to everyone else at 12 pm PT.
