Trump the hoax media

The American political press are running out of hoaxes to try to frame our president, Donald John Trump. Their desperation reached a new low in their coverage of his campaign rally in North Charleston, South Carolina, last night.

CNBC screeched: "Trump calls outbreak a ‘hoax,’ South Korea has record jump in cases"

Many other news organizations ran similar headlines.

Our president, Donald John Trump, does not believe for a second that this new strain of the flu is a hoax. You don't assign your vice president to head up the effort to battle a flu virus if you believe it is a hoax.

The Associated Press reported, "President Donald Trump lashed out Friday at Democrats who have questioned his handling of the corona virus threat, calling it their new “hoax.”

"At a campaign rally in South Carolina, Trump sought to steal some of the spotlight from his Democratic rivals a day before voters cast their ballots in the state’s presidential primary.

"Trump accused Democrats of 'politicizing' the corona virus and boasted about preventive steps he’s ordered in an attempt to keep the virus that originated in China from spreading across the United States."

That's closer to what he said.

Courtesy of Ashe Schow, he said, "Now the Democrats are politicizing the corona virus. Corona virus. They’re politicizing it. We did one of the great jobs, you say, 'How’s President Trump doing?' They go, 'Oh, not good, not good.' They have no clue; they don’t have any clue. They can’t even count their votes in Iowa. They can’t count their votes!

"One of my people came up to me and said, 'Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia. That didn’t work out too well. They couldn’t do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything, they tried it over and over. They’ve been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning, they lost, it’s all turning. Think of it. And this is their new hoax.'

"But you know, we did something that’s been pretty amazing. We have 15 people in this massive country, and because of the fact that we won early, we won early, we could’ve had a lot more than that. We’re doing great. Our country is doing so great. We are so unified. We are so unified."

The context is that he said this at a political rally. You are supposed to be partisan and political at a political rally. That is why they call it a political rally.

Democrats and their handmaidens in the political media are trying to portray him as incompetent, but he has been on top of the situation from the get-go. That is one of the benefits of electing a germophobe president.

Our president, Donald John Trump, stopped travel with Red China and quarantined people when this new flu bug broke out.

World Health Organization, a United Nations bureaucracy, cried xenophobia. The New York Post reported, "The WHO claims the president’s policies 'unnecessarily interfere with travel and trade.'"

Thank goodness he did.

Today, our president, Donald John Trump, extended his travel ban to Iran. He also increased warnings about travel to Italy and South Korea, nations that have seen a surge in the corona virus flu.

Health officials in Washington state announced the first death in the USA. More deaths will follow. That's normal because the flu kills thousands of people each year.

The CDC reported, "CDC estimates that influenza was associated with more than 35.5 million illnesses, more than 16.5 million medical visits, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths during the 2018–2019 influenza season."

The winter before that, the death toll was 61,000. The year before that 38,000. The year before that 23,000.

Flu hits the elderly hardest. The CDC reported, "Older adults also accounted for 75% of influenza-associated deaths, highlighting that older adults are particularly vulnerable to severe outcomes resulting from an influenza virus infection."

By older, the agency means 65 and older.

The corona virus is coming at the end of the flu season.

The good news is a vaccine is in development that may be ready in October at the start of the next flu season.

The corona virus is not a hoax. Some may say it is overhyped like the bird flu, SARS, and Ebola, but my take is that the reason we believe those diseases were overhyped is because the CDC did its job, got on top of the possible epidemic, and spared us a mass sickness.

Corona virus is not a hoax, and it is not overhyped, but I believe the much-maligned federal government (and I get my licks in) will do such a good job protecting us that we will a year from now say it was much ado about nothing.

By then, the liars in the political press will have moved on to a dozen assorted hoaxes in their futile efforts to kill his presidency.

Never Bet Against The Donald.
