New Wellsville medical practice plans ribbon-cutting and open house

WELLSVILLE, NY - Neurosciences Group announced today the availability of comprehensive care services, in a state of the art office, for the treatment of Acute and Chronic Pain, and management of Major Depressive Disorder.
Preventive Family Care is now offering fluoroscopic guided injections for joint and spine related conditions, as well as medical management of acute and chronic pain.  Preventive Family Care provides best in class treatments for patients; including the iFuse Implant system, Radiofrequency ablation, and HF10 Spinal Cord Stimulation Therapy.
Dr. Billy Carstens said “I am very excited to be partnering with Neurosciences Group and practicing comprehensive pain management at 243 maple Avenue in Wellsville, NY. We are offering a wide spectrum of treatments for our patients.” Dr. Carstens, a Physician at Preventive Family Care, brings with him over 26 years of experience and has done extensive work with the latest technologies offered in the space. “It’s our commitment to deliver the absolute best technology in one local, convenient location.”

Over 100 million Americans suffer from chronic pain. It is the primary cause of adult disability in the U.S. and is a costly public health issue. The combined loss of productivity and healthcare costs exceeds $600 billion annually in the U.S.* Severe pain, and (affiliated) medically refractory depression significantly interfere with a person’s quality of life and functionality, yet the conditions are largely under-treated, and often misunderstood.
Partnering with NeuroStar, Preventive Family Care now offers Trans Cranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy at its Wellsville Office. TMS, a non-drug treatment option for people with Major Depressive Disorder, uses targeted magnetic pulses, similar to MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) technology, to stimulate areas of the brain that are underactive in depression. According to Khalid Sethi, MD the NeuroSciences Group founder, the TMS treatment “maps and stimulates the prefrontal cortex of the brain., to make meaningful, lasting, positive changes in the neuronal chemistry of the brain.”
“We are proud to offer coordinated medical, surgical care and minimally invasive procedural care for appropriate neurological and spinal conditions,” said Dr. Sethi. “Our comprehensive approach combines treatments and management across different specialties, including Pain Management, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, and Physical Therapy.”

Preventive Family Care represents a significant advance in the treatment of patients suffering from pain and all secondary conditions, including medically refractory depression.

An OPEN HOUSE event will be held on Saturday, February 15th 2pm-4pm, with Wellsville Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
