Highlights of the News

"Here I come to save the day!"
That means that Mini Mike is on the way.

ITEM 1: The Associated Press reported, "Vulnerable Republican Sen. Martha McSally attacks her Democratic opponent, Mark Kelly, for supporting the impeachment and removal of President Donald Trump in an ad that began airing on Wednesday.

"McSally’s first television ad of the 2020 election cycle attempts to tie Kelly to liberal members of Congress and the leaders of the Democratic efforts to impeach Trump and remove him from office, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff.

"'The Washington liberals are obsessed with President Trump,' a narrator says in the ad. 'They wasted three years and millions of dollars trying to overturn the last election and steal the next one. Liberal Mark Kelly supported their impeachment scam.'"

President Donald John Trump isn't the only Republican who can use the sham impeachment scam to get re-elected.

ITEM 2The Washington Examiner reported, "California Rep. Eric Swalwell said on Wednesday that Democrats may consider another go at removing President Trump from office, this time for the Justice Department intervening in Roger Stone’s court case.

"CNN host Jake Tapper asked Swalwell whether House Democrats might consider impeaching Trump for ostensibly aiding the longtime Republican operative, who was convicted of obstruction, witness tampering, and lying to Congress last year. Prosecutors initially sought a sentence of up to nine years in prison, but the Justice Department stepped in and said it would pursue a lesser penalty for Stone."

Swalwell said, "We’re not going to take our options off the table. We don’t wake up in the morning wanting to impeach him, you know. We want to work with him on prescription drugs, background checks, and infrastructure, but we are not going to let him just torch this democracy because he thinks that he’s been let off once and we’re not going to do something about it."

The Democrats bite at his bait every time.

He's Bugs Bunny. Road Runner never did anything to provoke Wile E. Coyote. Bugs lived to torment his adversaries.

ITEM 3: The Daily Caller reported, "In a rare move, the Republican members of the House Intelligence Committee boycotted a hearing scheduled for Wednesday morning, saying that Chairman Adam Schiff has “strayed” from conducting business relevant to the panel, including by failing to hold a hearing over the Justice Department inspector general’s report on FBI abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act."

Schiff does not see his role as holding the intelligence community accountable.

He sees his job as providing them cover.

ITEM 4: Politico reported, "Attorney General William Barr has accepted an invitation to testify to the House Judiciary Committee on March 31, ending a year-long standoff that began when the panel first demanded his testimony in the aftermath of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

"The arrangement comes as Democrats have demanded answers about Barr's apparent intervention in the sentencing of President Donald Trump’s longtime ally Roger Stone, who was convicted last year on charges that he lied to congressional investigators and threatened a witness."

He doesn't drink water. He prefers Democrat tears.

ITEM 5: Fox News reported, "President Trump didn't have a serious challenger in the New Hampshire primary, but he still turned out enough voters to more than double former President Barack Obama's 2012 vote total in the state, indicating that the Republican base is all-in on Trump as he prepares to face the eventual Democratic nominee in a reelection battle this November.

"With 87% of precincts reporting, Trump secured more than 120,000 votes in the Granite State. In 2012, Obama managed just 49,080 total votes in New Hampshire. The gap between the two presidents is likely to increase as more precincts report their totals Wednesday.

"It also dwarfs the total of other incumbent presidents: then-President George W. Bush received 53,962 votes in the largely-uncontested GOP primary in New Hampshire in 2004. And in 1996, incumbent President Bill Clinton received 76,797 votes in New Hampshire's primary."

This is not ego tripping.

In 1968, LBJ beat Gene McCarthy, barely, 48% to 42%. The primary result pushed LBJ not to seek a second term.

Democrats and children can afford to be careless, but not Republicans.

ITEM 6: Zero Hedge reported, "President Trump withdrew the nomination of former US attorney for DC, Jessie Liu to the #3 spot at the Treasury -- which she quit her job last month in anticipation of.

"Liu oversaw several politically charged prosecutions, including Trump associates Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort and others, according to Axios, following a scoop by OAN's Jack Posobiec.

"The move comes hours after four prosecutors in the Roger Stone case tendered their resignations because the DOJ rejected their absurdly punitive sentencing recommendations in Stone's case.

"Liu was confirmed in September 2017 to oversee the DC US attorney's office, and was expected to stay through her nomination. Instead, she was unexpectedly informed last month that she would be replaced by Attorney General Bill Barr's close adviser, Timothy Shea, per Axios - which adds that her withdrawn nomination to the Treasury Department's undersecretary for terrorism and financial crimes was the president's call, according to a former administration official familiar with the situation."

Slick move. The Donald got her to fire herself.

ITEM 7: The Right Scoop reported, "A few minutes ago in the White House, Peter Alexander from NBC News tried to corner President Trump by asking him what he’s learned from impeachment."

His answer was, "That the Democrats are crooked. They’ve got a lot of crooked things going. That they’re vicious. That they shouldn’t have brought impeachment. And that my poll numbers are 10 points higher because of fake news like NBC, which reports the news very inaccurately – probably more inaccurately than CNN if that’s possible. MSDNC…and if you take a look at NBC I think they’re among the most dishonest reporters of the news."

The media has convinced itself that President Trump did something wrong.

The rest of America knows he hasn't.

ITEM 8: CNBC reported, "President Donald Trump is hoping to sign another trade deal before the 2020 election. It could be with India, if he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi can come to terms during Trump’s official trip to the country in less than two weeks."

The story said, "Experts say the constructs of the trade agreement — and whether it can even be called a trade deal — will be determined by the outcome of U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer’s trip to India this week.

"Defense, energy, medical devices and agriculture are among the items said to be on the table, according to Eurasia analyst Akhil Bery."

Modi is a MIGA man -- Make India Great Again. That makes him worthy of President Donald John Trump.

ITEM 9: Agence France Presse reported, "More than 100,000 people are expected to pack into the world's biggest cricket stadium later this month when it is formally opened during a visit to India by US President Donald Trump, officials said.

"Workers in Ahmedabad are rushing to finish the 110,000-capacity Sardar Patel Stadium, which will overtake the 100,000-seater Melbourne Cricket Ground as the world's biggest cricket venue.

"Trump is due for a two-day visit to India on February 24, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to host him in his home state of Gujarat.

"The spectacle has been dubbed Kem Chho Trump, or 'How Are You Trump?' according to officials.

"Last year Trump was guest of honor at Houston's NRG Stadium in Texas at a rally for the Indian premier called Howdy Modi, attended by 50,000 people from the sub-continent's vast diaspora."

110,000-seat cricket stadium. They really love their cricket there. Only one Cricket captured the hearts of Americans, and that was 60 years ago.

ITEM 10Megan Scheiffer reported, "Bill Barr Indicts 8 For Illegally Funneling Foreign Money To Adam Schiff And Multiple Dem Senators."

The story said, "All of the leading names in the Democratic party took in this money including Adam Schiff and Ted Lieu, Jon Tester, Cory Booker, Hillary Clinton, etc.

"A real rogues gallery if ever there was.

"To add insult to Adam Schiff’s injury, one of those charged is George Nader a key witness in the Mueller investigation.

"Nader is a convicted child molester. Nader works as a straw man for the middle east sheikhs and it is clear now he was to influence certain members of Trump’s team as well as the entire Democratic party establishment."

Two-week old news but I missed it. Sorry.

ITEM 11: Yesterday, I rolled out the President Honey Badger graphic.

The reader who sent me thanked me, but added, "your blog did not include a link  that I had sent. Very few people have ever heard of a Honey Badger and do not know what the image of a Honey Badger means and how it relates to mission, passion, pursuit, and reaching the accomplishments of Trump’s promises that got him elected and acquitted.  Please work the URL above into your blog."

Thanks. And now the deed is done. It's a good video. They are cool critters who are so tenacious we should call them Trump Badgers.

ITEM 12: ESPN reported, "The NFL reinstated Myles Garrett on Wednesday, two days after the Cleveland Browns' star defensive end met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

"Garrett was suspended indefinitely after ripping the helmet off Mason Rudolph and hitting the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback in the head with it on Nov. 14."

He should not have done it, but it is a new season. Move along.

ITEM 13: Elizabeth Warren said, "A young girl came up to me tonight and said, 'I’m a broke college student with a lot of student loan debt. I checked and I have $6 in the bank — so I just gave $3 to keep you in this fight.' We’re staying in this fight for the people who are counting on us."

Given that there is a 1/1,024th chance that this is true, the donor made a good investment because if Warren becomes president, she will give that girl tens of thousands of dollars free in the form of student loan forgiveness.

$1.6 trillion buys a lot of votes.

ITEM 14: Spiked reported, "UK prime minister Boris Johnson has announced a consultation on the future of the TV licence fee. It specifically asks whether watching live TV without paying the licence fee should continue to be treated as a criminal offence, or whether it should instead be subject to some form of civil-enforcement procedure."

BBC gets £3.83 billion ($5 billion) a year from this tax. It reacted as one might suspect.

The Guardian reported, "The BBC’s chairman will warn that replacing the licence fee with a Netflix-style subscription service would result in big cuts to its children’s output that would potentially spell the end of dedicated channels such as CBeebies and CBBC in their present form."

That's how government works by threatening to cut its most popular offerings if it does not get its way.

But as the Spiked story pointed out, the fee would still be collected and scofflaws fined.

ITEM 15: Is that you, Hillary?
Tell Breadline Bernie we have found his running mate.

ITEM 16: Which one is Trotsky and which one is Stalin?
Her heart isn't in it. A President Sanders greatly cripples the AOC 2024 campaign.

ITEM 17: Klobuchar (horse whinny) receives her reward for finishing third in NH.
Oppo research is a compliment.

And perhaps a payback for throwing staplers at staffers.

ITEM 18: I admire the proficiency of President Moreno's batman.
He sets him up and ducks out of the photo op. Lenín Moreno was robbed and shot in the back in 1998, leaving him paralyzed.

ITEM 19David P. Goldman wrote, "The corona virus epidemic is a shock to China’s political system, but — unless the death toll spirals out of control — it probably is a shock that China’s system can absorb. But if China veers away from market reforms and relies on the brute power of the Communist apparatus, its economic momentum will weaken.

"China’s sad history is dotted with natural disasters. It has had 1,828 famines at the province level between 108 B.C.E to 1911 C.E., or almost one every year. Tens of millions died in the famines of 1810-1811 and 1846-1849, weakening the Qing Dynasty just before the British began the two Opium Wars. Famine and plague during the Taiping Rebellion of 1850-1873 killed perhaps 30 million; the famines of 1907 and 1911 in East and Central China killed 25 million; and the artificial famine brought about by Mao’s blundering Great Leap Forward killed perhaps 50 million. Natural disasters brought on popular revolts and, frequently, foreign invasions. That is how China’s dynasties fell in the past. Unless the present epidemic reaches proportions at the extreme fringe of available predictions, the present Communist dynasty will survive it."

We shall see.

ITEM 20: It's not that it is a lame joke.
It is the failure to acknowledge that a blizzard disproves climate change.
