Highlights of the News

Carolina Trump's grandpa is still our president.

ITEM 1: Politico reported, "President Donald Trump committed criminal bribery and wire fraud, the House Judiciary Committee alleges in a report that will accompany articles of impeachment this week.

"The report, a 169-page assessment of the case for Trump’s removal from office, contends that Trump committed 'multiple federal crimes' — ones that Democrats addressed under the broad umbrella of 'abuse of power,' the first article of impeachment against the president.

"'Although President Trump’s actions need not rise to the level of a criminal violation to justify impeachment, his conduct here was criminal,' the panel’s Democrats argue, labeling Trump’s behavior 'both constitutional and criminal in character' and contending that the president 'betrayed the people of this nation' and should be removed from office."

Democrats still need to cite a crime in the articles of impeachment.

The Constitution says you can impeach only for treason, bribery, high crimes, and misdemeanors.

ITEM 2: Ace of Spades reported, "Charles Schumer: The House Totally Made a Convincing Case for Impeachment But Also We Totally Need to Call New Witnesses to Make the Case for Impeachment."

Or as Nancy might say, we have to pass impeachment before we see what's in it.

ITEM 3: Rasmussen announced, "Voters are ready to jail or fire senior law enforcement officials who illegally targeted President Trump, but most think they are unlikely to be punished.

"The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone and online survey finds that 52% of Likely U.S. Voters consider it likely that senior federal law enforcement officials broke the law in an effort to prevent Trump from winning the presidency. 39% say that’s unlikely. This includes 36% who say it’s Very Likely they broke the law to get Trump and 24% who say it’s Not At All Likely."

Rasmussen also said, "43% think these officials should be jailed if they are found guilty of breaking the law to prevent a Trump presidency, up dramatically from 25% early this year, while another 22% say they should just be fired. 15% favor a formal reprimand. Just 11% say no disciplinary action should be taken."

57% believe if convicted they should not go to prison? I am floored.

ITEM 4: The Washington Examiner reported, "A growing number of polls show that President Trump is gaining the support of black voters above what any Republican president has ever received. Both Emerson Polling and Rasmussen Reports have it at about 34%, a stunning number.

"And a new Zogby Analytics survey found that African American support is at the highest levels of the year, driven by a strong economy, historically low black unemployment, and Trump’s agenda to support minority small businesses, historically black colleges and universities, and passage of criminal justice reform."

Polls are nice, but we will see what happens on Election Day.

ITEM 5Joel Kotkin wrote, "The fate of the 2020 election, whether for Congress or the White House, will be decided in the suburbs. Neither the pro-Trump countryside nor the intensely anti-Trump urban core have enough voters to put their preferred candidates in office."

In linking the column, Glenn Reynolds wrote, "I dunno, I think the sticks are going to weigh in hard, based on what I’m seeing in Virginia."

The Sanctuary City For Guns movement is impressive, but the election is simple. Donald Trump won 30 states in 2016. Democrats have to win back some of those states. President Trump kept his promises. Democrats kept calling Trump's supporters deplorable.

Meanwhile, Democrats delivered nothing to their supporters, and President Trump has.

The American Association of University Women crowd will not decide a darned thing except what to wear at the protest of the next inauguration.

ITEM 6: The San Diego Union-Tribune reported, "Remain in Mexico has a 0.1% asylum grant rate.

"It has been almost a year since the government began sending asylum seekers back to Mexico and only 11 people have been granted asylum. That accounts for a grant rate of less than 1%."

Which means 99.9% of asylum seekers in this program are phonies.

ITEM 7: Donald Trump is not the only person who makes news on Twitter.
The 93 miles completed are the high-traffic areas. President Trump did this despite a Democrat House of Obstructionists.

ITEM 8: Fox Business News reported, "The stock market has been unstoppable under the influence of President Trump.

"The Dow Jones Industrial Average crossed 28,332.74 on Monday, meaning it has rallied 10,000 points, or more than 54%, since Trump’s election victory on November 8, 2016. The benchmark S&P 500 has gained more than 46%."

He did this in 3 years.

Obama supporters want to measure stock increases from Inauguration Day to Inauguration Day because they won't admit his election caused the stock market to accelerate its dive, plus they want to siphon some of Donald John Trump's hard-earned gains.

This is all on President Trump. Obama sneered and said those jobs aren't coming back. Donald Trump said no, and brought them back.

Stocks are bets on the future. President Trump gave us a bright one.

ITEM 9: Flashback to Election Night 2016, when Nobel Economics Laureate Paul Krugman wrote, "It really does now look like President Donald J. Trump, and markets are plunging. When might we expect them to recover?

"Frankly, I find it hard to care much, even though this is my specialty. The disaster for America and the world has so many aspects that the economic ramifications are way down my list of things to fear.

"Still, I guess people want an answer: If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never.

"Under any circumstances, putting an irresponsible, ignorant man who takes his advice from all the wrong people in charge of the nation with the world’s most important economy would be very bad news. What makes it especially bad right now, however, is the fundamentally fragile state much of the world is still in, eight years after the great financial crisis."

Man plans, and God laughs.

Economist predicts, and God is rolling on the floor laughing.

ITEM 10The Dallas Morning News reported, "American Airlines leads pilot hiring surge as U.S. airlines set traffic records."

American is based in Fort Worth.

The story said, "Airline hiring will top more than 4,000 pilots by year’s end for the fifth straight year, a pace not seen since before the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. That was before mergers halved the number of major air carriers and airlines were comfortable flying planes with more empty seats.

"The industry is trying to keep up with a record number of passengers and more pilots retiring as they hit the mandatory age 65 retirement limit, said Louis Smith, president of the Nevada-based aviation hiring firm Future & Active Pilot Advisors."

Mo' money, mo' travel.

ITEM 11: The Hill reported, "Federal agencies will receive $25 million from Congress to study gun violence in a government spending deal reached by House and Senate negotiators — a major win for Democrats who have long pushed for dedicated funding to research the issue, a source told The Hill.

"'Democrats have broken the ban on funding for the first time in decades,' the source said.

"The deal includes $12.5 million each for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Institutes of Health to study gun violence and ways to prevent it.

"It’s the first time in more than 20 years that Congress has appropriated money for gun violence research."

I would rather study the link between abortion and cancer.

ITEM 12: Life Site News reported, "A Texas court has stepped in to stop a Fort Worth hospital from pulling the plug on a 10-month-old baby without her mother’s consent.

"Cook Children’s Fort Worth was slated to pull the plug on little Tinslee Lewis against her mother’s will. But pro-life advocates helped Tinslee’s mother fight for her in court.

"Baby Tinslee is a 9-month-old girl with congenital heart disease and is breathing with the assistance of a ventilator. She is sedated but conscious. Cook Children’s Fort Worth Hospital informed Tinslee’s mother, Trinity, on October 31 that they would pull the plug on her daughter against her directive in 10 days, scheduling her to die on Sunday.

"The family and hospital have been in a tenuous legal battle ever since.

"Thankfully, yesterday, Justice Sandee Marion, Chief Justice of the 4th Court of Appeals, granted more time for Baby Tinslee Lewis before she would issue a formal ruling on a temporary injunction.

"A temporary injunction would prevent Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth from pulling the plug under the Texas 10-Day Rule on the 10-month-old against her mother’s will.  Tinslee is now protected until January 2, 2020, from euthanasia as the family continues to work with Texas Right to Life and Protect TX Fragile Kids to seek another hospital that would care for her."

A children's hospital wants to kill a kid? Fortunately, there was a Republican judge around to halt the execution, and that is what it would be.

ITEM 13BuzzFeed News reported, "A group of friends at West Plains High School in Missouri handed out several pride flags at their school last week to show LGBTQ students that they weren't alone.

"But later that day, other students responded by displaying a Confederate flag in the school cafeteria, sparking a contentious debate on social media that has roiled the small town of West Plains.

"Students said that the Confederate flag incident was posted on Snapchat with this caption: 'If they can fly their queer flags, others can fly their rebel flags. Butt hurt?'

"Officials with the West Plains School District said last week that they were investigating the Dec. 9 incident."

The only flag that belongs in school is an American one.

ITEM 14: Radio Free Europe reported, "Russian Museum Cafe Stops Selling Stalin Chocolate After Outcry."

I hear it left a bad taste in your mouth.

ITEM 15: Na, na, na, na. Na, na, na, na. Hey, hey, hey.
Goodbye.

I just wish Americans who say Donald Trump is not their president would leave, too.

ITEM 16: Where was ICE?
People who should be deported are lining up!

ITEM 17: Impeachment? What impeachment?
The network news cartel met this weekend and decided to just live with having Donald John Trump as our president.

ITEM 18: A little confirmation bias to start the day.
Remember, he lost by 2 to Hillary and took 30 states.
