Highlights of the News

The meme today holds that ths dog has done more for America than the Democrat Party has done in a decade.

ITEM 1: The Daily Caller reported, "The media went after President Donald Trump on Monday during Conan’s visit to the White House, attacking him for a litany of reasons, including making jokes to the press and not standing close enough to the dog.Conan, who is credited with getting ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to kill himself during a special forces raid last month, went to the White House on Monday to visit with Trump, first lady Melania Trump, and Vice President Mike Pence.

"While many people used the moment to celebrate the dog’s heroic actions, some members of the media fretted about Trump’s behavior during the event."

Deliberately taking jokes seriously shows how unserious the press is.

America deserves a better press.

Until then, we will continue to question the veracity of their reports.

ITEM 2: The Associated Press reported, "Billionaire and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, one of the world’s richest men, has formally launched a Democratic bid for president."

The story also said, "Already, Bloomberg has vowed to spend at least $150 million of his fortune on various pieces of a 2020 campaign, including more than $100 million for Internet ads attacking Trump, between $15 million and $20 million on a voter registration drive largely targeting minority voters, and more than $30 million on an initial round of television ads."

At this point 4 years ago, Donald John Trump had spent nothing on TV ads and was leading the Republican polls. Bloomberg is in fifth place.

His real task is flipping Trump supporters because without a percentage of them, Democrats cannot win. Donald Trump won with those voters in 2016. They are enough to win again.

I do not see how Bloomberg's ban on Slurpees and other Nanny State initiatives win people over. His opposition to the Second Amendment drops his presidential chances below zero.

Matt Drudge called this the Battle of the Billionaires.

The last Battle of the Billionaires ended with Donald John Trump shaving the head of Vince McMahon.

ITEM 3: CBS reported, "Demand For Hemp, CBD Oil Could Lead To Christmas Tree Shortage."

CBD oil is extracted from marijuana and used in homemade medicine.

Marijuana is more profitable than Christmas. Tax-craven government has not thought this through, any more than it thought through property taxes, income taxes, sales taxes, legalized gambling, and many many more.

ITEM 4: PJ Media reported, "Retired Ormond Beach police officer Vincent Champion recently wanted to visit Universal Studios' Orlando theme park with his girlfriend. The two of them thought they were going to have a great time. Well, not so much. You see, security refused entrance to Champion because he had the audacity to wear a shirt that said "retired police officer."

"It happened on November 1. Champion and his girlfriend, Holly Bickel, were headed to the theme park where they intended to meet up with other couples for Halloween Horror Nights. 'I walk up to the line wearing a retired law enforcement officer shirt,' he explained to Blue Lives Matter afterward. 'I start emptying out all my pockets and as I’m about to walk through, the girl behind the security counter says ‘do you have another shirt?''"

The park police would not let him in.

The irony is liberally ladled on this incident.

ITEM 5: Breitbart News reported, "A senior Joe Biden campaign staffer in charge of outreach to Latino, African-American and women’s groups has quit her post, telling two allies she was frustrated over her lack of input and with the presidential candidate’s immigration rhetoric."

A person described as an immigration activist said, "The campaign is just hyper-focused on whites in Iowa and African-Americans and it placed less value on Latino outreach."

I get that Iowa is largely white. What I don't get it hiring an outreach staff and not reaching out.

His problem. Not mine.

By the way, his son heads his Ukrainian Outreach effort.

ITEM 6: The Hill reported, "House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) told Democratic lawmakers on Monday the committees overseeing the impeachment inquiry are preparing a report for the House Judiciary Committee that they hope to send shortly after members return from their one-week Thanksgiving recess.

"In a Dear Colleague letter sent to members of the Democratic caucus, Schiff said the House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, and Oversight and Reform committees continue to investigate President Trump. He did not rule out the possibility of additional hearings or depositions.

"But he also said investigators did not want to allow the administration to delay their probe through court challenges."

President Donald John Trump gave those in Congress who would overthrow his constitutional government everything they wanted including the Mueller Report and the transcripts of the Ukrainian phone calls. This is called rope-a-dope. And these dopes want more rope.

ITEM 7:
Maybe they got tired of incriminating themselves.

ITEM 8: Jeff Bezos' Washington Post alleged, "The Supreme Court on Monday blocked a House committee from immediately reviewing President Trump’s financial records, after the president’s lawyers agreed to an expedited review of a lower-court ruling granting access.

"The court’s action signals that, even as Congress considers impeaching Trump, the court will undertake a more complete consideration of the legal powers of Congress and state prosecutors to investigate the president while he is in office. The court instructed Trump’s lawyers to file a petition by Dec. 5 stating why the court should accept the case for full briefing and oral argument."

Presidents are not above the law.

Nor are they below it.

He is entitled to privacy. We set up an income tax to finance the government, not to give the government the power to seize our privacy.

ITEM 9: The Hill reported, "The Supreme Court on Monday declined to take up an appeal involving a prominent climate scientist who sued an iconic conservative magazine and libertarian think tank for defamation.

"In a closely watched request to the Supreme Court, the National Review and Competitive Enterprise Institute asked the justices to intervene in a suit brought against them by scientist Michael Mann. The case, which pits climate scientists against the free speech rights of global warming skeptics, drew interest from lawmakers, interest groups, academics and media."

Justices believe in the climate change propaganda more than they believe in the First Amendment.

We shall see if this applies to Sarah Palin and Nicholas Sandmann or if it is another Only Liberals rule.

ITEM 10: Bloomberg News reported, "Many of the biggest companies have wholeheartedly embraced the theory that more diversity means more profits. Investors may be less convinced — at least when it comes to adding women to boards.

"An analysis of 14 years of market returns across about 1,889 companies finds that when they appointed female directors, they experienced two years of stock declines. The market value of a given company fell 2.3% by adding one additional woman."

Translation: women make lousy directors who will, on average, cost the company that hires them a drop of 2.3% in value. Investors go by who makes them money, and not whatever demand is popular among SJWs today.

ITEM 11: Reuters reported, "Former White House counsel Don McGahn must testify in the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, a federal judge ruled on Monday, rejecting the administration's assertion of immunity for officials by declaring that no one is above the law."

Obama judge.

Not mentioned in a 679-word report.

ITEM 12: National Review opined, "It’s Time for Term Limits on the Supreme Court."

Oh sure. Now that President Donald John Trump is picking judges, all these liberal publications want to end lifetime appointments of justices.

Never forget these National Review turncoats were OK with electing Hillary to appoint Loretta Lynch instead of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.

ITEM 13: The Daily Mail reported, "Lawmakers in South Carolina want to make it illegal for doctors to operate on or prescribe hormones and possibly even antidepressants to transgender children and teenagers, according to a bill proposed last week.

"If signed into law, the bill would make any medical efforts toward gender reassignment impossible for anyone under 18.

"The legislation even aims to outlaw drugs to treat 'symptoms of clinically significant distress resulting from gender dysphoria,' including depression or anxiety that arise from being assigned a gender at birth that doesn't match a young person's identity.

"State Representative Stewart Jones told the Post and Courier the bill is to 'protect children' like a seven-year-old in Texas whose gender reassignment surgery is now being delayed by a court battle over her father's objections."

Bravo.

If society will not trust you with a beer until you are 21, why should it trust you with a decision to castrate yourself?

Grownups run the Palmetto State.

ITEM 14: Reuters reported, "House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Monday that a version of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement that House Democrats could back was within range but that they needed to conduct a final review.

"President Donald Trump's administration has been pushing for the congressional passage of USMCA, which would replace the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement. Trump has repeatedly accused Democrats of stalling a vote on the accord to avoid granting him a political win."

By final review, she means the report on polling to make sure public support for impeachment is really dead and not just pining for the fjords.

FINALLY: All errors should be reported to DonSurber@gmail.com.

A reader reported, "This was too big not to report, a mistake of monumental magnitude. You root for the Browns."

I replied, "Birth defect. I was born in Cleveland."
